 The organized picks and round 1 standings for this week's
tournament are up on the website. We chose 33 golfers. Kuchar
is the favorite, picked by all but 2 of us. Scott, Spieth and
McIlroy tied for the 2nd most popular choice, showing up on 10
teams each. Furyk and Donald were picked 8 times each. Six of
us like Rose. Bubba got the nod 5 times. Garcia and Mickelson
are the 4-baggers. J.J. is a lone trey. The only two deuces
are Blixt and Donaldson.Uniques... holy crap have we got some uniques, 20 altogether. Brett is the clear leader with 6, and I think he was shooting for 7. Dave B. has 4. Randy, Bill and Mike M. have 2 each. Chris, Shelley, Dave A. and Mike D. have one each. Six of us thought this was actually a major and went uniqueless. Steve and I have the same 7 golfers. This is not a major. Never was, never will be. Never, never, never. No matter how many times the Golf Channel morons try to call it that, it still won't be. The day they start counting this as a major will be the last day of this pool and my involvement in any way with professional golf. It's a good field, one of the toughest of the year. But so are all the WGC tournaments and the other majors. And they are playing for a stupid amount of money, $10 million purse this year. But so is the PGA Championship. And a major can't be played on a piece of shit course like Sawgrass. The spread of picks we have this week pretty much prove this is not a major; over 60% uniques. And Tiger's not playing so it can't be a major. Whatever you want call it, there's going to be some seriously exciting golf pooling going on this weekend. With this bunch of picks, oh hell yea it will be... Let's get it on! Later,
