The New Orleans Picks Are Up!

I guess the top players don't like Nawlins...

Let's Get It On!The organized picks and round one standings are on the site.  We chose 28 golfers.  World #1 Jason Day is this week's favorite and unanimous for the second time this year.  Justin Rose is the number 2 pick of the week, on 15 teams.  Billy Horschel shows up 11 times.  Rickie Fowler was chosen 10 times.  Ten of us like Daniel "Cheese" Berger.  Captain Chris Kirk got the nod 7 times.  Abbie's boy Charley Hoffman and Bruce's boy Danny Lee were picked 6 times each.  Andy's boy Smylie Kaufman made it on to 5 teams.  General Patton Kizzire is the only 4-bagger.  No treys, but Chucky Howell, Stevie Stricker, Marc-ie Leishman, Russelly Henley and Whee-wee Kim are this week's deuces.

We have 13 uniques.  Chris is the leader with 3.  Dan, Dave and Joe have 2 each.  Hugh, Bill, Oliver and Mike D. have 1 each.  The remaining 8 of us will not know the crawfish gumbo joys or creamed okra horrors of a unique pick this week.

For the new guys and as a reminder for the rest, everyone's picks are listed on the bottom of the "Picks Received" page (from the "Picks" tab on the main menu) just milliseconds after the deadline.

This spread of picks is about what I expected when I first looked at the field list; 3 or 4 clear favorites, a few mid-favorites then lots of deuces and uniques.  At first glance I thought we had a really lame field, but as a group we did a good job weeding out the golfers who are playing well right now.  If I were a tour player I would never miss this tournament.  Creole and Cajun food is just too good, even good enough to make up for a crappy golf course.  I would most likely miss the cut because I was unable to swing around my gut for two days (actually that's a problem I have now), but I would Friday trunk-slam happy and full.  This is Nawlins, it's gonna be a good'in... Oooweee, I gawr-on-tee.

Let's get it on!

Later,
