Dave A. Wins The AT&T National!

A tight battle down to the wire...

The Rule 20-6 Tournament #12 TrophyWell, I guess he's back, at least in non-majors anyway.  And no I am not talking about this week's pool winner Dave A.  Yes, both Dave and Cheetah used to win lots and lots of majors, both have won this year and both did win this week; but Dave has won a major since Tiger has (2010 vs. 2009).

Dave had 1st place Tiger, 2nd place Bo Van Pelt and t8 Hunter Mahan, but so did the other top 6 finishers.  What put Dave on top this week was his picks of 10th place Nick Watney and t11 Martin Laird, along with Randy's (who ended up 2nd) pick of Ryan Palmer shooting a 4 over 39 on his final 9 holes.  It was a tight race, Dave beat out Randy by $55,458.  Brian snagged the last money spot, $71,494 behind Randy.  Dave B. caught the bubble position, missing the money by $12,913.

Randy moved up from 5th to take over the Summer Season lead.  Mike M. dropped one spot to 2nd and Bill maintained 3rd position.  Hugh moved up two spots to 4th.

Randy and Bill switched positions in the Year-Long race, with Randy moving back into first.  I moved up 2 spots to 3rd and Brett fell one to 4th.

It's probably just as well that none of the Central Ohio boys won anything this week because I doubt they will be reading this Sunday evening or even Monday morning.  A nasty-ass storm blew through Ohio Friday (I think the same one that got Congressional) and as far as I know power is going to be out for a while.  I have been in Tennessee at my mother's since Thursday so I missed it.  I guess everyone is ok, but there are a lot of trees and power lines down.  Full power is not expected back until next weekend.  Quite a mess.  70+ mph winds sounds a lot like a hurricane.  I'll be back to it Tuesday.

The next event in about 17 days (yes, that's 17, we get an extra week off) is the 3rd major of the year and 2nd TMC of the season, The British Open or The Open Championship, take your pick.  It's at Royal Lytham and St. Annes this year, which isn't much longer than your average Goat Hills Muni, but it's the British Open so something bizarre will happen.  I love this major.

Get those picks in on time.  And remember, the 1st tee time is like 1:00 AM on Thursday, so better do those picks Wednesday night.

Later,
