Chris Wins The British Open!

As a group we had all of the top 6 finishers and Chris nailed 4 of'em...

The Rule 20-6 British Open TrophyThe Brits didn't disappoint again, though this year they should have been using yellow flags like a car race with all the wrecks going on today.  Only two people involved in the tournament today didn't choke: 2012 Champion golfer Ernie Els and Pool winner Chris M.  Chris had the top 4 finishers on his team and won this year's 3rd major by $516,274 over Mike D.  Mike had 3 of the top 4 finishers, missing only Head Engineer of the Bogey Train, Adam Scott.  Dave B. ended up 3rd, about $340k behind Mike.  Steve ended up on the bubble, missing the money by just over $92k.

You may notice the final result numbers were considerably higher than the unofficial results.  Either the PGA Tour or I don't understand how money conversion rates work.  I think it's them.  The percentages were right, so the standings didn't differ.

Chris moved up from 6th to take over the Spring Season lead.  Dave B. jumped from 7th to 2nd.  Brett moved up two spots to third.  Steve made a nice move from 11th to 4th.  Still five tournaments to go.

At the halfway point in the "T.M.C." pool, Chris is the leader by about $850k.  Mike D. is 2nd and Dave B. is 3rd (guess the British had a little influence in those standings).  Brett is 4th.

Randy and Bill are still 1-2 in the Year-Long battle.  Brett moved up one spot to 3rd and Steve hopped from 7th to the bubble position.

The next tournament in about 10 days is the W.G.C.-Bridgestone Invitational at the Firestone C.C. in Akron, Ohio.  We haven't played an event at Firestone since our 1st year, 2004, when it was the NEC Invitational.  It will be a smaller field with no cut, unless you forget to get your picks in.  Then you will have some golfers not making the cut.  So...

Get those picks in on time.

Later,
