Mike M. Wins The Wells Fargo!

Looks like you gotta have a unique to win in this Pool...

The Rule 20-6 Golf Pool Tournament #7 trophy.Mike M. had T2 Pat Perez as a unique and became the first multiple winner this year, winning by $444,707 over Dave.  Along with his 2nd win it was Mike's 4th cash of the year.  He also was helped by his pick of T18 Phil Mickelson's Sunday back nine 33 and T12 Patrick Reed's Sunday inward 40, who he didn't have but Dave did.  Perez, however, was definitely the key to his victory.  Dave was the only Pool player to have 6 golfers cashing this week, but his extra golfers couldn't come up with enough jack to overcome Mike's unique.  Jordie, Steve and I ended up in a 3-way tie for 3rd.  Jordie and I won the draw for the pennies on the uneven split.

Mike M. stretched his lead in the Spring Season race to over $657k.  Brian T. stayed in 2nd place and Andrew is still 3rd.  Steve also maintained his position on the money bubble.  Two more tournaments to go in this pool.

Mike now has just a bit more than a $1.3 million lead in the "TMC" pool.  Chris stayed in 2nd place.  Dave came up from 5th place to 3rd and trails Chris by just over $453k.  I stayed in 4th.  Mike might be tough to catch, but less than $750k separates 2nd and 7th places and around $900k is the difference between 3rd and 9th.  This week is the last event in this race.

And this week is the big money Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida on the infamous TPC Sawgrass course.  We crank it up in about 3 days.  I heard they made some changes to the course, though I haven't checked any details or watched the Golf Channel talking heads lately, so I'm not sure what they are.  I wonder if they took out the 17th hole?  Yea right.  What would Johnny Miller and the other babbling fools on NBC have to talk about?

Get those picks in on time.

Later,
