Jordie Wins The Travelers Championship!

The most complete team should win...

The Rule 20-6 Golf Pool Tournament #14 trophy.Jordie was the only player to have all 7 of his golfers make the cut and he needed every one to win this week by $16,834 over Dave.  It was Jordie's first win of the year.  Jordie had 2 top 10 finishers, including T5 and 58 shooter Jim Furyk.  Dave got his first cash of the year and had low pool pick T3 Justin Thomas, but his also-rans couldn't make one more birdie, or par considering the way the Saturday leaders played, to overtake Jordie.  Randy ended up in the final money spot, $148,075 behind Dave and $37,979 ahead of 4th place Dan.

I stayed in 1st in the Summer Season race.  Jordie moved up one spot to 2nd and narrowed my lead to a bit over $304k.  Hugh dropped one spot to 3rd and Randy stayed in 4th.  About $1.35 million separates 1st and 8th places, so with 4 tournaments left this one is still a dogfight.

Jordie and I stayed 1-2 in the Year-Long pool (me 1, Jordie 2).  Randy came up from the bubble to 3rd and Mike M. dropped one to 4th.  Still plenty of time for charges and falls in this battle too.

Finally, a week off.  Four weeks in a row is too much, but unfortunately we have to do it one last time.  In about 10 days we go to the land of peeing in the restroom you were born to pee in, Greensboro, North Carolina and The Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield C.C.  We played this tournament the first year of the pool, 2004, and haven't played it since.  It was called the Greater Greensboro Open then, with some title sponsor's name in there somewhere.  This will be the start of the final stretch, four tournaments in a row to end the year.  Rest up, it's going to be a real donnybrook.

Get those picks in on time.

Later,
