Mike M. Wins The Arnold Palmer Invitational!

Sure is nice when all your guys play well on Sunday...

The Rule 20-6 Golf Pool Tournament #3 Trophy.Mike M. had 4 golfers finish in the top 10 and won this week by $388,314 over Andrew.  Mike's top 10's were T4's Rory McIlroy and Tyrrell Hatton, 6th place Adam Hadwin and T7 Francesco Molinari.  He also added 12th place Rickie Fowler for good measure.  It was Mike's 2nd cash of the year.  Andrew's 2nd place finish was his 2nd consecutive cash.  He had the two T4 golfers and Rickie, plus T10 Tommy Fleetwood, but not enough other fire power to catch Mike.  Bill ended up 3rd, $221,875 behind Andrew with McIlroy, Hadwin and Rickie on his team, but no one else in the top 20.  Brian T. found the money bubble, missing a cash by $34,829.

This was the first "TMC" event of the Spring, so see the above paragraph for those standings.

Mike M. moved up 2 places to take over the Spring Season lead.   Jordie and Brian T. fell on spot each to 2nd and 3rd.  Andrew came up one position to 4th.

In the NCAA Tournament pool, 30 points separate 1st place from 4th place and that is now less than the amount of one correct pick.  Then in 5th place, last place, there's me.  Screw basketball, this is a golf pool.

We get a week off and we're going to need it.  In about 10 days we start a 3 week in a row stretch.  The first of those 3 will be in America's armpit, Texas, for the Shell Houston Open.  We haven't played this tournament since 2006 and I'm not sure why we are playing it this year.  I try to avoid any tournament in Lone Hole State, but this year we have two.  I don't know what I was thinking.  This tournament is actually in Humble, Texas, which has to be the most inappropriately named city in the state.  At least we don't have to actually go there and deal with the fracking related earthquakes, gun violence and general awful smell associated with anything Texas.  It could be worse...

Get those picks in on time.

Later,
