Mike D. Wins The U.S. Open!

Where did all the big names go?...

Let's Get It On!Though the scores were pretty low for a U.S. Open, the Pool was a bloodbath.  Nobody had more than 4 golfers make the cut.  The 3 players that had 4 cut makers were the ones who finished in the money.  Two of those 3 had winner Brooks Koepka and Mike D. edged out Chris for the win this week.  It was Mike's 2nd cash of the year and his first major since the 2011 British Open.  Along with Koepka, Mike had T5 Rickie Fowler, T21 Sergio Garcia and T35 Jordan Spieth making a check.  Chris missed out on winning his 2nd major in a row by $93,941.  Chris had Koepka, Sergio, T9 Brandt Snedeker and T23 Louie Oosthuizen.  Snedeker's bogey and Rickie's birdie on #18 Sunday was the difference between the top 2 players.  A very distant 3rd, but in the money, was Dan, close to $1.9 million behind Chris.  Dave ended up on the money bubble.

This was the first TMC of the summer, so those standings mirror this week's.

As one might expect with the big gap in team winnings, Mike D. and Chris took over 1st and 2nd places in the Summer Season race.  Brian fell 2 spots to 3rd and Joe also dropped 2 places to 4th.  A long way to go yet in this one.

The top 4, in fact the top 7, did not change in the Year-Long pool.

We get a week off before we tee it up again.  In about nine days we head to Potomac, Maryland and the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm for the Quicken Loans National.  I don't remember anything about this course.  I'm not even sure it's the same course they played last year.  And is this still "Tiger's Tournament"?  Is he going to get out of rehab and show up to watch (certainly not play)?  These are all questions I really don't care about... not right now anyway.

Get those picks in on time.

Later,
