Bill Wins The Masters!

Time to stop watching the Golf Channel again...

The Rule 20-6 Golf Pool Masters trophy.Bill had 3 of the top 4 finishers and 5 of his 6 cut makers in the top 10, more than enough to win this week.  His team total of $4,609,728 was the highest team total in Pool history and only the second over $4 million.  It was Bill's 1st win of the year, 3rd cash, 2nd career Masters win and first major win since the 2013 British Open.  Mike M. finished 2nd, $718,367 behind Bill, and had 3 top 10 golfers and 2 more in the top 12.  It was his 2nd cash in a row and 3rd cash of the year.  Close behind Mike M., $32,344, was Mike D.  He had one more top 10 than Mike M., but no one else in the top 20.  It was his 2nd cash of the year.  Dan grabbed the last money spot, $125,494 short of Mike D.  It was Dan's 2nd cash of 2019.  Randy found the money bubble, $82,800 away from the money.

Some changes in the Spring Season standings.  Mike M. moved into 1st place but Bill also moved up and is only $8,307 behind Mike in 2nd.  Brian G. fell one spot to 3rd, just over $382k behind Bill.  Steve stayed in 4th, $22,628 short of Brian.  Mike D. is 5th, just under $173k behind Steve.  The next tournament will decide this race.

Plenty of movement in the "TMC" pool (might have to rename that pool again).  Mike D. is now 1st by around $555k over Brian T.  Mike M. is 3rd, $204k behind Brian.  Andrew fell to 4th and trails Mike M. by about $148k.  Bill is on the bubble, just under $21k out of the last money spot.  The next, and last Spring, tournament will also decide this battle.

We get an extra week of rest before the Spring Season finale.  In about 17 days we head to Charlotte, North Carolina and the Quail Hollow Club for the Wells Fargo Championship.  It's 2 weeks before the PGA Championship and a pretty strong course, so the field should be full of top golfers.  It'll be a good warm-up for Bethpage.  The PGA Championship was at Quail Hollow in 2017 and I thought it was going to be there again, but after checking they were not on the list through 2030, though 2026 was still open.  They better grab it.

Get those picks in on time.

Later,
