 The organized picks and early round one standings for the
first tournament of the 2013 Rule 20-6 Golf Pool are up on the
site. We chose 23 golfers. Tiger, despite getting caught
cheating (at golf) in the Middle East and missing the cut last
week, is the lone unanimous choice. D.J. and Phil tied for 2nd
favorite, picked 12 times each. Defending champ Brandt Snedeker
and the sickly Bubba Watson were chosen 10 times each.
Thurston's boy, Chucky Howell, got the nod 7 times. Six players
liked Keegan and Nick. The Man in Orange, Rickie Fowler, made
it on to four teams. No treys. Van Pelt, Mahan and Colsaerts
are the only deuces.Eleven unique picks for this year's opener. Mike M. has 3. Hugh, Dan and Dave A. have 2 each. Randy and Dave B. have one each. The remaining 8 of us couldn't find a first tourney unique. We lost one player from last year, so there are 14 of us for this year, or at least for the Spring Season. I posted the payouts for the Spring and Year-Long in the Rules of Play (rule #11). I'm going to get you all to read those things somehow. We are starting off the season playing it tight. We've got 5 pretty clear favorites then we're taking some chances. Almost half the picks are uniques. With this field, which is much stronger than I remember in this tourney, I guess it's pretty predictable. Sunny southern California is supposed to be wet all weekend, but who cares. It's golf season again and time to get our golf pool on! Hell yea it's gonna be a good one, no question... Let's get it on! Later,
