Dan Wins The Bridgestone Invitational!

He successfully defends his title and picks up his 3rd win of the year...

The Rule 20-6 Tournament #14 Trophy.Lots of players had 2 of the top 3 golfers this week (and everybody had winner you-know-who), but Dan was the only one to have all 3 top finishers and, after a close first three days, won handily by almost $555k over Dave B.  It was Dan's 3rd win of the year and his $3,181,167 total is only the 16th time a player has had a team win over $3 million in a tournament (the Record Book page lists all the others).  Steve was 3rd, $27,500 behind Dave.  Brian caught the bubble spot this week, missing the money by only $7,500.

The top 4 in the Summer Season race remained the same: Bill, me, Mike D. and Steve, in that order.

In the Year-Long standings, Bill remained on top by about $1.4 million.  Steve moved up to 2nd from 4th.  Jordie stayed in the final money spot and Brett fell 2 positions to 4th.  This one's still tight, with 2nd and 6th places separated by about $600k.

Don't take a break.  We are playing again this week and it is the final major of the year, Glory's Last Shot, The PGA Championship.  The picks are due in about 3 days.  This year's version of the forgotten major is in Rochester, New York at the Oak Hill Country Club.  I think Shaun Micheel won last time they played there, so this might be a good "nobody wins major" golf course.  If I don't recognize the name, I'm picking'em.  And I'm taking lots of club pros too.

Get those picks in on time.

Later,
