Mike D. Wins The Los Angeles Open!

Uniques, uniques, uniques...

The Rule 20-6 Golf Pool Tournament #2 trophy.Mike D. had winner Bubba Watson as a unique and won this week going away.  It was his first win since last year's U.S. Open.  He had 2 other top 10's (T9's Spieth and Thomas) and 5 of his 6 cut makers in the top 20.  Joe finished 2nd, $576,684 behind Mike, and had T2 Kevin Na as a unique pick.  Like Mike he had 3 top 10's and 5 top 20's, but all 7 golfers making the cut.  Even with an extra golfer it's tough to overcome a unique winner.  Randy also had 5 top 20's and 3 top 10's but no uniques, so he finished 3rd, just under $445k behind Joe.  Brian T. found the money bubble, $18,720 short of a cash.

Mike D. moved into first place in the Spring Season race.  Mike M. is 2nd, Joe is 3rd and Randy 4th.  Long way to go in this one.

No time to rest.  We go at it again this week on the other side of the country in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on the PGA National Champion course for The Honda Classic.  This is the course with "The Bear Trap", 3 holes on the back 9, 2 tough par 3's with a really awful and hard par 4 between them.  If the wind is blowing they all can be very rugged holes.  NBC is taking over the golf telecasts until the Masters, so expect more incessant announcer ramblings and a lot more advertisements.  And I'll bet even more yammering about "what's-his-name", if that's possible.

Get those picks in on time.

Later,
