Mike A. Wins The Masters!

How did we all miss Reed?...

The Rule 20-6 Golf Pool Masters trophy.Mike A. had 4 of his 7 golfers in the top 5, including best Pool pick 2nd place Rickie Fowler, and made his first career cash a major win.  Along with the rest of his top 5, who were 3rd place Spieth and T5's McIlroy and Bubba, he had T12 Justin Rose and T20 Jason Day.  Mike also had the first team this year to finish over $3 million, which may be the first time that has happened without picking the winner.  As with the tournament itself the Pool came down to the back 9 on Sunday, actually the last 3 holes.  Dan, who finished 2nd, $88,000 behind Mike, had his picks of T10 D.J. and T17 Thomas both bogey 2 of the last 3 holes and that pretty much cost him a win.  Oliver was 3rd, $14,850 behind Dan, also benefited from the D.J./Thomas finish, but needed one stroke lower out of Bubba or T36 Phil.  Jordie was 4th, $575k behind Oliver.

Mike M. stayed in 1st in the Season race, but his lead shrunk to about $686k over Dan, who came up from 4th to 2nd.  Andrew fell one spot to 3rd and Bill came up 2 spots to the money bubble position.  Three tournaments to go in this battle.

At the halfway point in the "TMC" pool, Dan maintained his lead.  Oliver moved up one place to 2nd.  Mike M. fell on spot to 3rd.  Mike A. made a big move from 11th to 4th.

We get a week off then fire it up again in about 9 days in the shithole country of Texas, specifically San Antonio and the TPC San Antonio - Oaks course, for the Valero Texas Open.  We haven't played this tournament since 2015, possibly because it took that long to get rid of that stink that comes along with anything related to Texas.  I've heard it's not as bad as it used to be, so maybe this year it won't be quite as raunchy.  I doubt it.

Get those picks in on time.

Later,
