 The picks and round one standings for
this week's tournament are on the site. We chose 30 golfers,
sort of. Rickie and Tiger are the favorites, picked 16 time
each. Leishman made it on to 10 teams. Long John Holmes was
chosen 9 times. Frankie Molinari and Beau Hossler show up 8
times each. Seven of us like Jimmy Walker. Kyle Stanley and
Chucky III were picked 5 time each. Gary Woodland and Byeong
Hun An are 4-baggers. Horschel, Haas and Joaquin Niemann are
treys. The deuces this week are Na and Lee.The uniques total 14, with some asterisks. Oliver leads with 6 and has all of the asterisks. Tom and Bill have 2 each. Dave, Dan, Mike M. and I have one each. The other 10 players will not achieve glory or failure through a unique pick. These picks were much tighter than I thought they would be. Throwing out the non-players we have 24 golfers in our lineup. I expected more with this less than stellar field. But only a few are real popular and there are a lot of hot golfers picked in the mid-range area. This one's going to be wide open. This is the last year for this tournament in the D.C. area. There's a good article in Golf Digest by John Feinstein (link here) that tells about the demise of this tournament and what a self centered dick Tiger is, if you didn't already know that. Worth the read. Despite the dick being in the field and we almost picking him unanimously, I'm pretty sure this is going to be a good one... Let's get it on! Later,
