The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational Picks Are Up!

Ah, the smell of burning tires...

Let's Get It On!The picks and round one standings for this week's tournament are on the site.  We chose 30 golfers, which is 42% of the field.  D.J. is the favorite, picked by all but one player.  That Tiger guy shows up on 15 teams.  McIlroy got the nod 14 times.  J.T. and late WD Justin Rose were chosen 6 times each.  Fowler, Fleetwood and Spieth were picked 5 times each.  Rahm, Koepka, Finau and Casey are all 4-baggers.  Day, Reed, Molinari and the X-Man are treys.  The deuces this week are Matsuyama, Mickelson, Noren, Z.J. and The Bubba.

Nine uniques for this final tournament in Akron.  Oliver leads with 2.  Dan, Jordie, Andrew, Randy, Tom, Mike A. and Mike D. have one each.  The other 9 of us will not find W.G.C. shame or glory through a unique pick.  Everyone has a least on unique, deuce or trey.

Quite a set of picks; very different from anything else we've seen this year.  We have 3 clear favorites then no one else picked more than 6 times.  60% of the picks are uniques, deuces or treys.  This one will be wide open.  I'm kind of sad to see the PGA Tour leave the Akron area.  There's pretty much been a tournament at Firestone all of my golfing life, which is 45+ years.  I doubt the golfers will miss Akron, except those who enjoy bad gas station coffee and picking up Dirty Leg Waffle House waitresses.  Most likely there's plenty of both of those things in Memphis.  History is not important to the PGA Tour, only money, which is evident from the ridiculous number of ads I have to block on their website.  We are golf pooling for pride and glory, and yea some money too, and this last Akron tournament is set up to be a damn good one...

Let's get it on!

Later,
