Andrew Wins The PGA Championship!

Guess who he wisely didn't pick...

The Rule 20-6 Golf Pool PGA Championship trophy.Andrew had 5 of his 6 cut makers finish in the top 10, including T3 Patrick Cantlay as a deuce and T8 Adam Scott as a unique, and won his first major this week by $329,145 over Joe.  It was also his first win of the year after 3 2nd place finishes.  Joe's 2nd place finish was his 3rd cash of 2019.  He also had Cantlay but only 5 golfers playing on the weekend, making it too tough to get past Andrew.  Mike A. finished 3rd, $384,200 behind Joe.  It was his 3rd time in the money this year.  Bill snuck into 4th, his 3rd tournament in a row in the pay circle, $52,100 short of Mike.  Oliver found the money bubble spot, only $3,100 away from the cash.

Being the first tournament of the Spring and the first TMC event, those standings mirror the paragraph above.

In the Year-Long race, the top 4 spots stayed the same; in order Bill, Mike M., Brian G. and Steve.  Andrew moved up a couple spots to 5th.

We head to Central Ohio in about 9 days, specifically Dublin, Ohio and Muirfield Village G.C. for The Memorial Tournament.  As I say every year this is our 5th major since it is the only tournament other than the 4 recognized majors that we have played every year of this Pool.  And it's not the Players Championship.  If Koepka would think of the Memorial the same way he'd win it for sure.  But he'll probably treat it like any other non-major and finish 20th or so.

Get those picks in on time.

Later,
