Andrew Wins The Honda Classic!

Wire to wire, unlike Justin Thomas...

The Rule 20-6 Golf Pool Tournament #3 trophy.Andrew had 3 of the top 4 golfers this week, including winner Justin Thomas, and won by $40,392 over Randy.  It was Andrew's first win since last year's Valspar Championship and his 2nd cash of the year.  Andrew and Randy had 5 of six cut makers the same, the only difference being Andrew's Louie O. vs. Randy's Rory Mac.  Despite shooting 75 on Sunday, Louie still finished 6 shots and 25 places ahead of Rory.  It was also Randy's 2nd cash of the year.  As what usually happens when 3 or more players pick the same 7 golfers, Brian, Brian, Bill and I tied for the last money spot.  We were aided by Alex Noren's good play on the weekend.  The 3rd place foursome finished a bit less than $301k behind Randy.  Hugh was technically on the money bubble, though this week that was 7th place, $132k away from a cash.

Mike D. stayed in first in the Spring Season standings.  Randy moved up 2 places to 2nd.  Mike M. fell one spot to 3rd.  Andrew came up one position to 4th.  Still plenty of time for anyone to climb to the top in this race.

We get a week off and then head to the other side of the State of Florida, Palm Harbor near Tampa, at the Innisbrook Resort Copperhead course for The Valspar Championship.  It starts in about 10 days.  If I remember correctly this is another pretty tough track, though I don't think the field is usually all that stellar.  I don't know what network is covering the tournament.  I don't think it matters, regardless of who broadcasts it there will be too many ads and too much babble about the obvious.  But I'll probably watch it anyway.

Get those picks in on time.

Later,
